Lockdown is the penalty to majority due to irresponsible behavior of few: Citizens

Its nearly a year when the first phase of lockdown began. The State Government has ordered shops and establishment except those of necessary items to be closed on Saturday and Sunday. On February 27 the first day of the lockdown, The Live Nagpur interacted with people from different sector and took people’s reaction.

Dr Sneha Mahajan, RMO at Care Hospital, said, “Despite of several preventive measures taken by the Government. The number is increasing day by day. Now its time to look at the issue in a different perspective.”  She added that those infected when given relaxation, where mixing up with common people, joining the main stream. “Positive individuals failed to isolate themselves, and the Government machinery has failed to check them, the whole society has to bear the punishment for the negligence and irresponsibility of few.”

Priti Gotmare, a school teacher added  that by now the Government should have been able to trace, taste and treat the patient. “After the hardship of few months, the Government machinery had relaxed fully neglecting the norms of check and control,” Gotmare said. Ram Shastrakar, who had to cut short his marriage programme today, said, “Being the first son marriage in the family, every one in the family from both sides were busy and huge preparation for the Big day was also done. With the announce made few day ago by local authorities. We have to make it a small affair with 25 people. The venue of marriage hall was shifted to bride home.”

Like Ram there are many with the same condition. Whose marriage and wedding reception was fixed during these days. Suresh Bhandarkar, who had his sons wedding and reception just few days ago opinioned that it was difficult to stop people coming to the wedding and reception. “I personally gave wedding cards to near and dear ones and requested them to make attended the funcation. How could I now stop them. I decided to pay the fine if pennalised”.

Adv Ashok Yawale, President of Gurudev Seva Mandal, added that the administration has failed to frame policies on ground reality. “In central jail who the inmates are getting positive, though they are isolated from the society.” Rallies and protest is going on in Aurangbad, why it is not banned? Adv Yawale asked.

“Corona attacks the person whose immunity is very low, the decision of the local authorities is very wrong. Marriages are not a one day programme, its planning and preparation are done months before, and the dates are finalized. There is no reason to ban celebration and social functions etc.”

The majority echoed that they have lost their jobs, financial crises in business and no routine work for the daily wage earners. When the recovery rate is above 90 per cent and the death rate below two percent. The total year in lockdown, at least now the local Government must think twice on financial grounds and must impose heavy punishment on those positive patients coming in contact with the public. Impose heavy fines and criminal action on them and their family and stop lockdown etc.
