Vidarbha suffer another defeat, lose to TN by four wickets

Vidarbha lost to Tamil Nadu by four wickets and ended their campaign on a disappointing note in in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match at the Emerald Heights International School ground in Indore.

Batting first Vidarbha were bundled out for only 150 after being put in to bat. In reply, Tamil Nadu achieved the target in just 11.2 overs after losing five wickets.

Fast bowlers Saurabh Dubey and Nachiket Bhute claimed two wickets each spinner Aditya Sarvatet took a wicket. For Tamil Nadu Jagdeeshan hammered 48 off just 18 balls smashing four sixes and equal number of boundaries .

M Mohammed remained unbeaten 37 off only 14 balls. Earlier, Tamil Nadu skipper Dinesh Karthik won the toss and decided to field first. His decision was proved correct by Tamil Nadu bowlers as they captured Vidarbha wickets at regular intervals.

Faiz Fazal, who scored two centuries in the tournament, failed to get going on Sunday as he struggled to make just 2 runs from 21 balls.

Ganesh Satish didn’t last long and was dismissed for 5 after facing 16 balls. Tamil Nadu’s new-ball bowlers Ragupathy Silambarasan and J Kousik bowled splendid spells to put Vidarbha on the back-foot from the beginning. At one stage, Vidarbha were 64 for the loss of 4 wickets . However, some determined batting by Akshay Wadkar (31) and tail-enders helped Vidarbha to reach the 150-run mark.
