After five days of wait the administration will be giving COVID-19 vaccination to citizens above 45 years of age on May 6 as it has received stock of vaccine under the state government’s quota.
Considering the increasing prevalence of corona in the city, a total of 96 centers will be set up for the vaccination on Thursday. These include Covaxin at three centers at, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC), 2 centers at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital and Covishield will be given at Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS).
Apart from this, 3 additional centers have been started for persons in the age group of 18 to 44 years, in which covaxin vaccination will be given at Late Prabhakarrao Datke Mahal Diagnosis Center, Chapru Sarvodaya Mandal Hall, Chaprunagar Central Avenue and Manewada Urban Primary Health Center (UPHC).
Also, Covishield vaccination will be given at Pachpavli Maternity Hospital, Indira Gandhi Hospital, Gandhinagar and Isolation Hospital, Imamwada. In particular, online registration for vaccination is mandatory for persons between the ages of 18 to 44 years.
Individuals who register online should be present at the time given by the vaccination center. The corporation has appealed to take care that there will be no crowd at the center.
