A major fire incident occured at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport Nagpur today. The incident came into light when smoke was noticed from a pillar at the entrance of the Airport in the early morning hours.
As soon as the smoke was observed, people reported it to athorities. The power of entire Airport was also shut for precautionary reasons as the exact cause of fire was unknown.
The fire department team reached the spot but the fire was not visible from the upper part of the pillar, only smoke was visible. Due to which the personnel of the fire department cut the aluminum sheet and the fire was extinguished with the help of fire engine.
It is estimated that the pillar got fire primarily due to a short circuit.
The fire was extinguished in due course of time, due to which a major accident was avoided.
