The civic administration has constituted a special committee consisting of expert members for immediate redressal of complaints regarding overcharging Covid patients by private hospitals. The committee will look after complaints of arbitrary charges levied upon patients by private hospitals in city. As per the information, the panel will have to audit the hospital bill and submit its report within three days of receiving the complaint.
The committee comprises Dr.Abhimanyu Niswade(retired dean) Government Medical College and Hospital.Dr.Milind Bhrushundi,Dr.Shelgaonkar(Mayo Hospital),medical officer of the corporation Dr.Harsha Meshram,assistant accounts officer Sanjay Venorkar,Sanjay Matlani,joint director accounts and treasury Prashant Gawande,Nirbhay Jain from municipal corporation. Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Dhamecha and others. The civic authority appeals patients or relatives who feel that they are being overcharged by hospitals should file complaint.
