The leopard which was spotted in the city and reaching near Maharajbagh in the city did not return after hunting a pig was again spotted at GPO near the High court area by resident Ankit Jain on Wednesday night informed Range Forest Officer and since then a team is searching the big cat in the area and CCTV footages are being checked by the team to get a led on the leopard which is on the loose.

The forest department took a lot of efforts to capture this leopard into camera traps and cages. But the leopard once again gave a slip to the forest department and giving sleepless nights to the people who are on lookout for the wild animal from last six days. Three cages and large number of camera traps were placed in the area where the leopard had killed a pig on Tuesday.

As there was no trace of the leopard anywhere, an important meeting of the forest department was held on Wednesday. It was then decided to relocate the cages. Meanwhile; three teams from the forest department are searching for the leopard. On Wednesday, the areas from Mokshadhan and Sitabuldi to Ambajhari, the area of the nullah and the adjoining forest area of 20 to 22km were combed by the three teams. Sniffer Steffi was also pressed into service throughout the day. Seven cages have been set up in the area on Wednesday evening. The number of camera traps has also increased and the location has also changed. But there was no success.
