Maharashtra Class 10, 12 board exams to be held offline

The Maharashtra state board of secondary and higher secondary education on Thursday in a press conference announced that the exams will be held in offline mode as per schedule in the state, in strict Covid protocols.

Sharad Gosavi, Director, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education said “to avoid overcrowding of students, the number of exam centres have been increased with every school being made into an exam centre, i.e students will be allowed to give exams at their own school.”

In case a student misses the examination due to COVID, he or she may be given a second chance at a later date. The board would be releasing detailed guidelines for the same at a later date.

The written theory exam will begin at 10:30 am instead of 11 am like every year. Additional time would be given to students, 30 minutes or 15 minutes depending on the total marks of the theory paper. This is being done because students have lost writing practice.

Students on January 31 took to the streets to protest against the decision of the Maharashtra state education board to conduct offline exams for classes 10 and 12.
