Gadkari proposes special park for disabled in Nagpur

A special park for the persons with disabilities, like the one in Ujjain, will be developed in Nagpur. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced his wish of developing the park. He has appealed to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Nagpur Improvement Trust to make available four to five acres of land for the proposed park.

Addressing media persons on Friday Gadkari stated that equipment for the overall development and of the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and sports material will be made available.

Gadkari also announced that a camp for the senior citizens (60 years and above), under National Vayoshri Scheme will also be held. The PwD will be given wheelchair, tricycle, Braille slate, calipers, walking sticks, hearing aide etc, as per requirement. The needy PwD should enroll along with the required documents between February 27 and March 20 in urban areas and from March 21 in rural areas.

The senior citizens above 60 years with income below Rs 15,000 per month, may register their names with NMC Zonal offices. After scrutiny of the documents, beneficiaries of the scheme will be selected.

Referring to the Russia-Ukrain war, Gadkari said that discussion with Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and Aviation Minister was held and efforts to bring back the students stranded in Ukrain are being made.
