Nagpur registers 42.1 degrees C

Mercury is soaring all over Vidarbha with maximum temperature crossing over 40 degrees Celsius. The people are feeling pinch of the heat and taking due care while moving on roads. Men, women and children remaining indoors have started switching on AC, coolers and fans to beat the heat.

Chandrapur recorded the highest temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and at third hottest place in the world. Kayas (Mali) registered a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius with Yelimane (Mali) closely following it at 44.8 degrees Celsius and then Chandrapur ranking at the third position.

Akola registered a temperature of 43.2 degrees C and Nagpur recorded the temperature of 42.1 degrees C. The maximum temperatures in Celsius at other cities in Vidarbha are as follow: Wardha – 42.8, Washim – 42.5, Yavatmal – 42.0, Armavati – 41.8, Brahmapuri – 41.8, Gondia – 41.5, Gadchiroli – 40.2 and Buldana – 39.8.

After Vidarbha, Marathawada is also becoming hot by registering the temperature at 40 degrees C and above. The temperatures at Nanded and Parbhani were 41.6 degrees C and 41.3 degrees C respectively, followed by Aurangabad at 40.3 degrees C. Sangli, Solapur, Malegaon and Lohgaon (Pune) crossed the temperature of 40 degrees C on Wednesday. The maximum temperature of Solapur was 42.8 degrees C. The temperature at Ratnagiri was lowest at 32.4 degrees C in Maharashtra, followed by Mahabaleshwar – 33.1 degrees C and Alibagh – 33.5 degrees C.
