Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Surface Transport, paid a visit to South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) in Civil Lines on Sunday and expressed beginning of the construction work soon after performing bhoomipujan of the proposed administrative building in the premises.
Gadkari was virtually present during bhoomipujan programme held on June 3 but because of his special interest in SCZCC, he personally visited it. He also instructed the officials and contractor to see that the work is finished in stipulated time.
MP Krupal Tumane, Jaiprakash Gupta, Dr Dipak Khirwadkar, Director of SCZCC, M B Patel, Dipak Patil and others were present. The three-storeyed administrative building with all necessary facilities would involve an expenditure of Rs 6.17 crore. It is expected that the work being done by CPWD would be completed in 9 months.
