Members of Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) of NMC created public awareness about avoiding banned single use plastic in all the zones on Tuesday.
Members of all the 10 squads took out rallies in the zones and appealed citizens, shop-keepers, establishments, shop owners in markets not to use the banned plastic.
The Ministry for Environment, Forests & Climate Change has issued notification imposing total ban of production of single use plastic materials, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use from July 1. Therefore, the squad will start taking stern action against defaulters from July 1. The members participating in the rallies gave hint to the citizens, shop-keepers and others to avoid the use or face action.
