Sudhakar Adabale of Maha Vikas Aghadi was declared the winner from Nagpur Teachers Constituency. He secured 16,500 votes against his nearest rival Nago Ganar of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who got only 6.366.
Adabale increased his lead from 14,071 to 16,500 in the second round. He was declared elected after the counting of first-preference votes. Ganar who had received 6309 first preference votes in the first round could marginally increase the tally to 6,366.
There were 22 candidates in the fray for the seat of MLC. Adabale was supported by MVA.
