The Meteorological Department has predicted unseasonal rains in some parts of Maharashtra between April 5 and 7. Sporadic rains on Tuesday have been predicted in East Vidarbha – Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli.
The temperature in the state has already crossed 38 degrees. The rains may bring relief from the scorching heat for a brief period. The unseasonal rains may spoil the crops which are being harvested or ready for harvesting.

On April 6 and 7, some parts of Marathwada and South Maharashtra may get heavy rains. The Met Office has issued an alert for 11 districts of Maharashtra. Akola, Hingoli, Parbhani, Nanded, Bid, Latur, Osmanabad, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, and Kolhapur may receive heavy rains with lighting on April 6..
The highest temperature during the last 24 hours was recorded at Chandrapur, which was 38.2 degrees.
The rains are the result of low air pressure at 900 meters above sea level in Karnataka and south Tamil Nadu and change in the atmosphere in Rajasthan.
