All offices and bill collection centers in the Nagpur circle of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MahaVitaran) will remain open on November 30, in observance of Lok Adalat and the final day of the PD Amnesty Scheme, aimed at helping customers with outstanding electricity bills.
The PD Amnesty Scheme, offered by MahaVitaran, is available to customers whose connections were disconnected due to unpaid bills until March 31, 2024. Eligible customers include domestic users, businesses, and industrial users, while agricultural users are not covered by the scheme.
Under the scheme, interest and late fees on the outstanding bill will be waived. Customers can pay 30% of the original bill amount, with the remaining 70% payable in six installments. Additionally, customers in the low-tension category who make a single payment will receive a 10% discount, while those in the high-tension category will get a 5% discount.
MahaVitaran offers a 1% discount on the bill amount to customers who make payments before the due date. Customers who pay promptly through online methods, such as bank apps or the MahaVitaran website, receive a 5% discount. Additionally, customers who opt to receive their bills via email instead of paper will get an extra discount of Rs 10.
