In anticipation of heavy passenger rush during the year-end period, Central Railway has temporarily suspended the sale of platform tickets at select major stations, including Nagpur. The measure, aimed at managing crowd congestion and ensuring smooth passenger movement, will be effective from 12:00 pm on December 29, 2024, to January 2, 2025.
The restriction applies to 14 stations:
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan, Panvel, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Akola, Solapur, Kalaburagi, and Latur
Exemptions
Certain groups are exempted from the restrictions, including senior citizens, ailing persons, children, illiterate individuals, and women passengers unable to fend for themselves. These exceptions aim to ensure ease of travel for vulnerable groups.
Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with the temporary regulations to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience, according to a release by Central Railway.
