City Police have announced a citywide nakabandi beginning Monday, December 30, at 4:30 pm to ensure public safety during New Year celebrations. Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Singal made the announcement on Monday, emphasizing the department’s commitment to maintaining order and preventing accidents.
Police personnel will be deployed with breath analyzers to crack down on drunk driving, starting immediately. Dr. Singal also issued a stern warning to clubs and bars, cautioning against serving liquor to minors or operating without valid permits. Strict action will be taken against violators, he said.
In addition, special flying squads have been formed to oversee operations and respond swiftly to any issues. “Our top priority is an accident-free and safe New Year celebration,” Dr. Singal stated.
The measures are part of Nagpur Police’s broader effort to ensure a secure environment for residents and visitors as they ring in the New Year.
