A heated argument between two young women at Pirates Pub in Dharampeth turned violent late Monday night, leading to an attack by two men. Police have registered a case against Ajju Chavan (24) from Uppalwadi and Akshay Madavi from Futala.
Jabir’s (23) sister called his friend to report a woman in a pink dress causing a commotion inside the pub. Jabir and his friend arrived and were confronted by the woman, who, along with her friends Ajju and Akshay, allegedly abused Jabir’s friend when they tried to intervene.
When Jabir’s friend tried to push them away, the two men physically assaulted him, with one smashing a beer bottle on his head. The trio then threatened the group and fled the scene.
Jabir later filed a complaint, and the Ambazari Police have registered a case of assault and intimidation.
This incident is part of a growing issue for residents in areas like Ambazari, Sadar, Sitabuldi, and Bajaj Nagar. The rise in pubs has led to complaints about unruly behavior, noise, and parking problems. Residents are frustrated with pubs staying open until early morning hours with little police action.
There’s a growing call for stricter enforcement of closing times and action against pub owners not following regulations.
