Nagpur’s Ayyappa Samajam, trustees of the Ayyappa Temple in Mankapur, will host the Annual Bramhotsavam and Makaravilakku celebrations, beginning with the ceremonial flag hoisting (Kodiyettam) on January 7.
The event will take place under the spiritual guidance of Vishnu Bhaatathiripad, Thantri KPC. The Bramhotsavam will feature a series of sacred rituals, culminating in the Thiruaaratu of Ayyappa Swami on January 12, followed by the lowering of the ceremonial flag (Kodi Irakkam) and the Shastapreethi.
The Makaravilakku festivities will be observed on January 13 and 14. On January 13, devotees can witness a grand ceremonial procession of Ayyappa Swami, accompanied by thalapoli. Enhancing the celebrations, a 13-member team of skilled artisans led by Thiruvankukam Renjith will perform the Panchavadyam, a traditional orchestra featuring five musical instruments.
