The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the EET UG 2025 guidelines, clarifying that the APAAR ID is not mandatory for the exam. This follows a public notice issued by the NTA on January 14, 2025, in which candidates were encouraged to update their Aadhar cards and link them to their APAAR ID, which the NTA refers to as the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC ID).The APAAR ID functions as a digital repository for a student’s academic credits, providing a comprehensive and centralized record of their academic performance.
The NTA has confirmed that the APAAR ID, which currently holds students’ academic credits, is not a mandatory requirement for NEET UG 2025 registration. Candidates will still have alternative methods to register for the exam. Detailed instructions for the registration process will be provided in the next update.
HOW DOES THE APAAR ID WORKS?After the confirmation by NTA that APAAR ID is mandatory for NEET UG 2025, the recommendation has been made by NTA that aspirants can still continue with the process to get the benefits of APAAR ID.
1. The Aadhar linking supports the authorities in verification of candidates’ identities quickly and accurately, leading to a smoother examination process for exams.
2. Linking of the AAdhar makes the information automatically filled and minimises the possibility of human faults, which makes the whole process smooth and efficient.
3. Aadhar verification also enables the process of attendance fast at the examination centres, which ensures a reduce in wait times and a quick identification process.
4. Aadhar verification also enables security for students by keeping their information recorded and saved through a unique identification process.
