The Supreme Court has once again postponed the hearing on the local body elections. The court heard the matter for a short time today, and fixed February 25 as the date for arguments.
Both the state government and the petitioners told the court that the arguments would be over in about one and a half to two hours. On this, the court has said that the matter will be kept on priority on February 25.
The issue of OBC reservation is no longer a matter of dispute, there are some disputes regarding the ward structure, but there are signs that they will also be resolved by the government.
If the adjournment is lifted on February 25 then the local body elections are likely to be held in April-May.
