Nagpur’s Veer Rajwade has successfully completed the prestigious Ironman 70.3 triathlon held in Cairns, Australia, emerging as one of the youngest participants in the event.
Veer completed the grueling endurance race in 7 hours and 24 minutes. The Ironman 70.3 consists of a 1.9-km swim, a 90-km cycling segment and a 21.1-km half-marathon run, making it one of the toughest endurance competitions in the world.
He has been training under the guidance of Dr Amit Samarth, a renowned cyclist and multiple-time Ironman finisher, who has played a key role in preparing him for the challenge.
Following his achievement in Australia, Veer has already set his sights on a bigger goal — completing a full Ironman event scheduled to be held in September in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.
Apart from his accomplishments in endurance sports, Veer is pursuing Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also an accomplished race car driver and has maintained an excellent academic record alongside his sporting achievements.
Veer is the son of noted Nagpur-based educators Radhika Rajwade and Dr Jaisingh Rajwade. His achievement has brought pride to the city and serves as an inspiration for young athletes aspiring to excel in endurance sports.
