Traffic Department, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Archit Chandak, has issued a stern warning against reckless driving and dangerous stunts after detaining a group of youths for performing perilous acts in a moving car to create social media content.
The suspects, who claimed to be social media influencers, were seen hanging out of a car (MH/03/BH/7990) while filming stunts. The video quickly went viral, catching the attention of vigilant traffic police personnel. Acting promptly, the police tracked down the group and registered cases under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Police revealed that some of the accused had previously been reprimanded for posting objectionable content, including videos with offensive language, on social media. Despite prior warnings, their pursuit of viral fame led them to continue engaging in unsafe and unlawful behavior.
Nagpur Traffic Police have reiterated their zero-tolerance approach to such violations, urging citizens to prioritize road safety and exercise responsibility in the digital age, where social media fame often comes at the cost of public safety.
