A vacant ambulance overturned on National Highway 47 near Koradi on Wednesday morning after the driver attempted to avoid an injured buffalo lying on the road. The incident took place around 7 a.m.
According to police sources, the ambulance (MH40-7973) was heading towards Koradi when the driver suddenly applied brakes to avoid hitting the buffalo. In an attempt to steer away, he lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed into the steel railing divider and overturned on the opposite side of the road.
The driver sustained minor injuries, but no casualties were reported. Upon receiving the information, Koradi police reached the spot and took necessary measures to clear the congestion, restoring normal traffic flow.
A further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
