Nagpur’s renowned Walker Street is set to become even more beautiful with an extensive tree plantation drive undertaken by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Garden Department. As part of this initiative, shade-giving trees will be planted along both sides of the road from Police Gymkhana to Ramgiri, covering approximately 8,000 square meters along the 1.5 km stretch.
On Thursday , NMC Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Choudhary inspected the project site. Additional Commissioner Anchal Goyal, Deputy Commissioner (Gardens) Ganesh Rathod, and Garden Superintendent Shri Amol Chorpagar were also present.
Hundreds of walkers visit this street daily for morning and evening strolls. The plantation includes Royal Palm, Areca Palm, Ficus Benjamina, and 80 other species. The Commissioner emphasized maintaining tree health, especially during summer. Officials including Executive Engineer Sanjay Gujar, Architect Shikha Trivedi, and M.S.
