A fire broke out at a tyre processing unit in Umred on Saturday, March 8, around 10:30 AM, causing damage worth lakhs.
According to media report, the fire started when garbage near the stored tyres caught fire. The flames quickly spread to the oil and tyres, making it worse. Luckily, there were no casualties reported.
Upon receiving the alert, the Umred Nagar Parishad fire brigade swiftly responded and brought the blaze under control within an hour.
Fire Officer Milind Dukare stated that the prompt action helped prevent a major disaster. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
