The Nagpur Crime Branch has booked two restaurants—Jack & Jill Family Restaurant in Bajaj Nagar and Rudra Royal Family Restaurant on Wardha Road—for illegally serving alcohol without permits.
On March 16, Crime Branch Unit 1 raided Jack & Jill Family Restaurant around 9:25 PM, catching Rishabh Sunil Menon (25) supplying liquor to customers without a license. Police seized liquor bottles, glasses, tables, and chairs worth ₹73,120 and registered a case under Section 68 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act against Menon and hotel owner Jagdish Parwani.
Around 8:45 PM, Unit 4 raided Rudra Royal Family Restaurant in Chichbhavan, Beltarodi, where Shailendra Toliram Thakre (25) was caught providing alcohol illegally. Police confiscated liquor and beer bottles worth ₹6,400, booking him under the same law.
The operation was led by ACP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime) Abhijeet Patil. Authorities have intensified inspections, and further action against unauthorized liquor service is expected.
