Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the 250-bed Shri Sant Achyut Maharaj Heart Hospital in Amravati at 11 a.m. on March 22. The eight-storey hospital is equipped with modern machinery to handle critical heart patients. The second Cathlab will also be dedicated to the people on the occasion.
The hospital was started through donations by people aimed at providing services at a nominal charge of Rs 10, and Sant Achyut Maharaj. Between July 2006 and March 2025, the hospital conducted 3,371 open heart surgeries, besides a large number of angiography, angioplasty, IV Filter and inatalling Pacemakers.
The new building of the hospital has facilities of two new Cathlabs, CCTV installed surgery section, 25 single-bed special wards, 65 ICCU beds, 35-bed CCTV wards, 35-bed Cardiology ward. The air-conditioned building will have RO drinking water facility. Cleanliness is top on the priority list.
