A delegation of VIA Lady Entrepreneurs’ Wing (VIALEW), led by Chairperson Rashmi Kulkarni, recently visited the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP) Industrial Park in Hyderabad. This pioneering initiative, designed exclusively for women entrepreneurs, has reinforced the need for a similar facility in Nagpur, enabling women-led businesses to grow and contribute to Maharashtra’s industrial development.
The VIALEW team engaged with ALEAP leadership and entrepreneurs to explore the park’s development model, infrastructure, funding mechanisms, and support services. Delegation toured manufacturing units, incubation centers, and skill development programs tailored for women entrepreneurs. The delegation gained insights into ALEAP’s self-sustained ecosystem, which offers shared resources, financial linkages, and mentorship programs.
ALEAP Industrial Park empowers women entrepreneurs with infrastructure, financial aid, training, and access to government support.
Inspired by ALEAP’s success, VIALEW urges the Government of Maharashtra to establish a dedicated Women-Led Industrial Park in Nagpur. Such a facility would be a catalyst for economic empowerment and job creation in the region.
Rashmi Kulkarni emphasized that ALEAP’s model has transformed women’s entrepreneurship in Telangana by providing a structured and supportive industrial environment. A similar initiative in Nagpur would unlock significant potential, setting an example for Maharashtra’s industrial policy. Given Nagpur’s rapid emergence as an industrial hub, establishing a dedicated park for women entrepreneurs would offer them opportunities to expand their businesses, access government schemes, and foster innovation.
VIALEW envisions a comprehensive facility featuring plug-and-play infrastructure, shared services, funding assistance, and incubation support to help women-led enterprises flourish.
The Hon’ble Industries Minister had announced plans for a Women-Led Industrial Park in Nagpur before the elections. VIALEW now eagerly awaits the Government’s next steps to bring this vision to life. The delegation has expressed its readiness to assist the Government of Maharashtra by providing industry insights and essential inputs for this initiative.
Additionally, VIALEW suggests allocating space for the park in the Non-SEZ MIHAN area, which would be an ideal choice due to its strategic location, excellent connectivity, and existing industrial infrastructure. This would create a favorable business environment and strengthen Nagpur’s position as a hub for women entrepreneurs.
VIALEW calls upon the Govt of Maharashtra to collaborate with industry bodies and accelerate this initiative. This visionary step would align with national missions such as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atma-Nirbhar Bharat,’ while also positioning Maharashtra as a leader in promoting women entrepreneurship on a large scale. VIALEW urges policymakers to take swift action in developing this landmark project in Nagpur, ensuring that women entrepreneurs receive the support they need to drive industrial and economic growth.
The delegation included LEW EC Members : Dr. Anita Rao, Vandana Sharma, Poonam Lala, Manisha Bawankar, Chitra Parate, Shikha Khare, Poonam Gupta, Amandeep, Y. Ramani, Yogita Deshmukh, Indu Kshirsagar, and Tejal Rakshamwar, who played a crucial role in advocating for this initiative.
