Nagpur: The curfew imposed in various parts of Nagpur following the March 17 violence has been completely lifted. After a partial relaxation on March 22, the police reviewed the situation and decided to remove all restrictions from the affected areas on Sunday, March 23, at 3:00 PM.
On Saturday, March 22, curfew was fully lifted from areas under Zone 3, including Pachpaoli, Shantinagar, and Lakadganj police station limits, as well as Zone 4, which covers Sakkardara and Imamwada. In Kotwali, Tehsil, and Ganeshpeth police station areas, restrictions were eased from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM but were reinstated afterward. However, curfew in Yashodharanagar (Zone 5) remained in effect until further notice.
Following a fresh assessment, authorities lifted all remaining restrictions from Kotwali, Tehsil, Ganeshpeth, and Yashodharanagar on Sunday, March 23. With this, the curfew imposed after the March 17 clashes has now been removed from all parts of the city.
The curfew was initially enforced to control escalating tensions after violence broke out in multiple areas. As normalcy returns, police officials have urged citizens to maintain peace and cooperate with law enforcement to prevent further disturbances.
