The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced a Fire Station Cum Commercial Scheme near the ST Stand in Nagpur under a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Sale (DBFOS) model. The project aims to enhance fire safety infrastructure while integrating commercial spaces. This information has been sourced from the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project .
Located at Plot No. 17, the G+7 structure will cover 10,607.35 square meters, including fire station offices, rehabilitation areas, and 120 commercial units ranging from 40 to 150 square meters. The ground floor will house the fire station and four fire tenders, while commercial spaces, offices, and residential quarters for fire personnel will be distributed across the upper floors.
The developer must pay ₹50 crore to NMC for land use conversion, development fees, and additional FSI charges.
Affected shop owners near the ST Stand will be relocated within the complex at subsidized rates, with rehabilitation costs estimated at ₹15 crore, to be borne by the developer.
This project will reduce emergency response times, improve fire safety, and boost economic activity by providing business opportunities and increased municipal revenue. Set for final approval, it will establish a model for integrated urban infrastructure in Nagpur.
