Finally, the first commercial flight from Amravati’s Belora Airport will take off on April 16. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Amravati’s Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule will remain present for the inaugural function.
The booking for Alliance Airlines’ 72-seater Amravati-Mumbai aircraft will start on April 10. The services will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The plane will take off at 8.45 a.m. and land in Mumbai at 10 a.m. The Mumbai-Amravati flight will take off at 5 p.m. and reach Amravati at 6.15 p.m. There could be minor changes in the schedule.
The development is considered an important feature for Western Vidarbha and Amravati. The airport, with 18 by 50 meters installed with a modern PAPI system and other safety equipment, fulfils all the requirements for safe landing of international standards.
