Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass’ Surmayee Sathe of Class 9C, secured the 10th position in the prestigious PG TENNIS JOYGAON ASIAN U-16 (C-1) Tournament 2025, held on 31st March, 2025 at the Joygaon Tennis Academy, Jhajjar.
Organized under the aegis of the Asian Tennis Federation, this highly competitive U-16 girls’ tournament featured 32 of the best young tennis players from across the region. Surmayee demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
In the first round, Surmayee displayed grit and composure as she defeated Ose Ahuja with a tight score of 6-4, 7-5, advancing to the Top 16. In the second round, she put up a strong fight against 6th seed Akshita Antil but narrowly missed advancing further. However, Surmayee remained undeterred and went on to compete for the 9th to 16th place bracket.
In the third round, battling for a spot in the Top 13, she claimed victory over Siddhi Padey. She then moved on to the fourth round, where she outplayed Ruhin Kaushal with a convincing score of 6-3, 6-4, ultimately earning her the 10th position in the tournament.
Surmayee’s performance in the prestigious Asian-level tournament was commented by the Principal, Mrs. Perveen Cassad, Vice-Principal, Mrs. Bhakti Bobde, mentor, Mr. Ganesh Bagde and the staff.
