Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhary, Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), felicitated meritorious students from municipal corporation’s colleges who performed well in the Class 12 (HSC) exams. The event took place on Tuesday at the NMC headquarters, where he presented awards to the top scorers from the Science, Commerce, and Arts streams.

While congratulating the students, Dr. Chaudhary acknowledged their hard work and wished them continued success in their future academic and career endeavors. He also emphasized the need to focus on improving the quality of education alongside exam results, stressing the importance of holistic student development.

The students honoured in the ceremony had achieved outstanding results in the Maharashtra State Board’s 12th examination. Nirmal Kailas Mate from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Junior College, who topped the Science stream with 79.67%, was among the prominent honorees.
Other top scorers included Nurmujassam Istiyaq Khan (79.50%) and Ayesha Fatima Mo. Mujahid Hussain (74.64%) in the third position. In the Commerce stream, Fiza Fiza Mo. Rizwan Hashmi from M.A.K. Azad Urdu Junior College topped with 71.83%, while in the Arts stream, Muskan Firdous (81.83%) and Ikra Kauser (80%) were awarded for their excellent performances.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Chaudhary highlighted the importance of career counseling and guidance for students to make informed decisions about their futures. He also expressed his optimism for the upcoming year, setting a goal for colleges to achieve a 100% pass rate with even higher student performance.
Additional Commissioner Mrs. Vaishnavi B., Education Officer Mrs. Sadhana Sayam, Deputy Education Officer Mr. Subhash Upase, and other key officials were present at the event. They too congratulated the students and expressed their hopes for further improvement in the results.
The NMC’s overall performance this year saw an impressive 93.91% pass rate, marking a 13% increase from last year’s 81%. The significant improvement was attributed to the hard work of the students, teachers, and principals. Mrs. Sayam also mentioned that efforts would continue to improve the quality of education and ensure better results in the future.The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by School Inspector Mr. Vinod Walde.
