A 49-year-old man was killed in a horrific road mishap after a cement mixer attached to a tractor hit his two-wheeler near Vaishno Devi Chowk in Nandanvan on June 10, Tuesday.
The deceased, Attarsingh Ramdas Verma, a resident of Bhagat Nagar, Bharatwada Road, was preparing to ride his TVS XL when the tractor (MH-49-BZ-0243), driven recklessly by Santosh Mangal Sahu (29), suddenly lost control. The iron shaft of the cement mixer broke off and struck Verma’s vehicle, causing him to fall and sustain fatal injuries.
He was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Based on a complaint by his son-in-law, Swapnil Siddharth Khobragade, Nandanvan Police have booked the tractor driver under BNS Sections 281 and 106(1), along with Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is underway.
