LAD College, in collaboration with Nagpur Municipal Corporation along with Nagpur First Foundation, successfully organized a tree plantation drive aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and community participation. A total of 50 saplings (Neem, Bakul, Peepal, Champa and Ashoka) were planted within the NMC maintained park, with active involvement from both students and residents around Jetvan Park .. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation, as residents also pledged to take responsibility for nurturing and maintaining the plants. The tree plantation drive was headed and planted by students of LAD college from the Science and Humanities field.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr.Ganesh Rathore, the Deputy Commissioner and the tree-conservator of Gardens, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), Shri. Amol Chorpagar and along with Director of Nagpur First Foundation Er. Tanveer Mirza, whose presence added significance and motivation to the drive. In his address, he highlighted the vital role of trees in combating climate change, improving air quality, and enhancing community well-being. His encouraging words emphasized the importance of green spaces in urban areas and the collective role of citizens in protecting the environment.
Event witnessed a great participation by the society members and students from the college along with the teachers. Principal Dr Pooja Pathak, IQAC coordinator Archana Masram and IQAC co coordinator Kanchan Bade along Dr.Ashwini Balki, Dr Charita Patil, Ms.Kalyani Pidadi, Dr.Meenakshi Kulkarni and Dr.Deepali Chahande whose unwavering support and initiative of organising this event led to a huge success.
