Nagpur’s Hazaripahad-Sarojini Public School to Bhivsenkhori main road has turned into a nightmare for commuters, with deep and large potholes making daily travel life-threatening. The entire stretch is riddled with craters, forcing schoolchildren, office-goers, and local residents to risk their lives every day. During the monsoon season, the situation becomes even more perilous as the potholes fill with water, making them invisible and drastically increasing the chances of accidents.

Despite repeated complaints, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has allegedly turned a blind eye to the issue. Residents accuse the civic body of being in “Kumbhkarni sleep,” even as they continue to boast about the city’s “Smart City” status. Locals say the administration has completely failed to address their grievances, and frustration among citizens is steadily rising.

Local resident Abhijeet Jha expressed his anger, saying:
“Every day, we risk our lives while commuting on this road. Schoolchildren and senior citizens face the highest danger. Despite multiple complaints, the NMC has done nothing. If immediate action is not taken, we will be forced to hold a symbolic ‘Jalabhishek’ protest of the concerned officials to wake them from their deep slumber.”

The residents have issued a stern warning: if road repairs and pothole filling do not start immediately, they will intensify their protests. Until the civic administration acts, the local population plans to step up its agitation to draw attention to the dangerous condition of this vital road.
