An Afghan citizen who had come to the city for business was brutally attacked by three local men, who allegedly called him a “terrorist” before assaulting him. The attackers struck him on the head and chest with a rod, leaving him seriously injured. Police have registered a case of attempted murder against the three accused.
The victim, identified as Uddin, had been living in a rented house in Nagpur for the past six months while running a business. According to police, on the day of the incident, the accused confronted him, hurled abuses, and suddenly attacked him with a rod. Uddin fell to the ground after receiving blows to his head and chest, bleeding profusely. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical but stable.
A complaint was filed at the local police station, and the authorities have registered a case under sections related to attempted murder. The police have also confirmed that the accused are absconding and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.
The attack has caused panic among other foreign nationals in the area, as they fear similar incidents due to rising hostilities and suspicion. Authorities have assured strict action and enhanced security for foreign citizens residing in the city.
