As Nagpur Police intensifies its crackdown on illegal clubs and hookah parlours under Operation Thunder, a newly launched rooftop club in Dev Nagar has triggered fresh controversy. A video showing foreign women dancing on stage in revealing attire has gone viral, drawing sharp criticism from citizens and raising concerns over regulatory oversight.
The clip features two fair-skinned women performing before a cheering crowd. Their appearance and attire have prompted public outrage, with questions now being raised about the legality of the club’s operations and the administration’s monitoring mechanisms.
DCP Rishikesh Reddy Responds
Zone 1 DCP Rishikesh Reddy, speaking to Nagpur Today, stated: “The women seen in the video from Romeo Lane Club were reportedly invited as guests by the organizers. However, we have initiated an investigation, and further details will be revealed soon.”
The incident has sparked serious inquiries: Were these women foreign nationals? If so, were they granted valid performance visas? Or does this point toward deeper violations yet to be uncovered?
Rooftop Clubs Under Watch: “No Rooftop Liquor Service Allowed”
The recent controversy has once again put the spotlight on the legality of rooftop bars across Maharashtra. Addressing the issue, DCP Rishikesh Reddy stated, “Serving alcohol on rooftops is not permitted anywhere in Maharashtra. Although the legal position is not fully clear due to a pending High Court decision, we’ve directed all rooftop establishments to shut down and shift operations to ground level.”
He further added that any rooftop venue continuing to operate in violation of these instructions will be reported to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), which is responsible for issuing licenses to such establishments.
