A heart breaking incident has come to light from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, where a 22-year-old intern doctor allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room. The deceased has been identified as Sanket Panditrao Dabhade, a resident of Parbhani district. He had recently completed his MBBS degree and was undergoing his internship at AIIMS Nagpur.
According to police reports, the incident took place late Sunday night at Charak Hostel, where Sanket was staying in Room No. 909. When he did not respond to calls or step out of his room for several hours, fellow students alerted the hostel warden. Upon opening the door, Sanket was found hanging from the bathroom door.
Sonagaon Police immediately reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. No suicide note was recovered from the scene, but police have seized Sanket’s mobile phone for forensic examination to determine the cause behind the suspected suicide.
Sanket hailed from Jintur in Parbhani district. His father is a school teacher, and his sister is a BAMS doctor. The police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the matter further.
