Yashodharanagar Police arrested two men late on Saturday night after seizing 1.23 kg of ganja worth ₹36,900 from a residence in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. The action was taken around 10:50 pm on August 9, 2025, following a tip-off.
A police team raided the house of accused Shahbaz Khan alias Babu (23), son of Zakir Khan, located near Sai Baba Bichayat Kendra, Galli No. 21, in the presence of panch witnesses. Officers recovered two packets of moist green ganja—720 grams and 510 grams respectively—during the search.
During interrogation, Shahbaz admitted that he had procured the narcotics with the help of his associate, Nitin Upasrao Sonule (31), a resident of Galli No. 19, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, for the purpose of selling them for profit. Nitin was also arrested from his residence.
Both have been booked under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(2), and 29 of the NDPS Act at Yashodharanagar Police Station. The operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP Niketan Kadam and ACP Satyavir Bandiwar, and further investigation is underway.
