Nagpur: The Social Security Branch (SSB) of the Crime Branch, Nagpur City Police, rescued two women from the flesh trade during a raid at a salon in Dharampeth under Operation Shakti. The action took place on Tuesday (August 12) at LOOK BOOK By INARA Unisex Salon, located in Mangalam Apartment, Khare Town, under Sitabuldi police station limits.
The SSB team arrested accused Deepa Anand Godde (35), a resident of Valmiki Nagar, near Kalimata Mandir, Gokulpeth. According to police, the accused lured the victims with promises of high payments, provided them the salon premises, and forced them into prostitution for personal profit.
A total of ?40,030 was seized from the spot as per the panchnama. An offence has been registered under Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal, Joint CP Navin Chandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Crime) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime) Abhijeet Patil. The SSB team included PI Rahul Shire, API Shivaji Nanavare, ASI Shesrao Raut, constables Ashwin Mange, Sameer Shaikh, Kunal Masram, Kunal Bodkhe, Nitin Vasne, and driver Poonam Shende.
