A sudden halt in water supply left the residents of Dayanand Nagar, Jaripatka, in distress today as not a single drop flowed from their taps since morning. The disruption came without any prior intimation from the Orange City Waters (OCW). forcing families to struggle for drinking and household water.
Local residents expressed strong displeasure over the situation. “We woke up to completely dry taps. Without any notice, how are we supposed to manage daily chores? Even children and senior citizens are suffering,” said Siddharth Ramteke, a resident of Dayanand Nagar.
Citizens highlighted that such abrupt cuts without information create chaos in households, especially during the ongoing hot weather. “If there is a technical problem or maintenance work, at least the department should inform us in advance. We are not against repairs, but transparency is a must,” another resident added.
Residents have demanded immediate restoration of supply and called upon the water department to maintain a proper communication system with citizens to avoid recurring hardships.
