A few days ago, a shocking sight from the Nagpur–Jabalpur Highway went viral and raised serious questions about road safety and humanity. A man was seen riding his motorcycle at high speed with his wife’s dead body tied to the rear seat. The tragic incident occurred after a truck allegedly cut across their path, leading to the fatal accident.
What shocked many was not only the accident itself but the fact that no passerby stopped to help. Left helpless, the grieving husband was forced to carry his wife’s body on his two-wheeler.
Nagpur Rural Police have now successfully traced the truck driver responsible for the accident using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The driver, identified as Satyapal Rajendra, a resident of Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, was caught nearly 700 kilometers away on the Gwalior–Kanpur Highway.
The arrest brings some relief to the victim’s family and highlights the growing role of AI in assisting law enforcement agencies to solve hit-and-run and road accident cases.
