The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced a 36-hour shutdown of the Pench II and Pench III Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) to carry out crucial interconnection works under the AMRUT scheme. The shutdown will begin at 10:00 am on August 19, 2025, and continue until 10:00 pm on August 20, 2025.
According to officials, the major works will be executed near Gittikhadan Police Station. These include 1200 × 900 mm interconnection of the Pench II feeder with the new AMRUT feeder and 1200 × 900 mm interconnection of the Pench III feeder with the new AMRUT feeder.
During this shutdown, a large number of areas across the city will face water supply disruption. The affected localities include Gayatri Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Khamla, Laxmi Nagar (Old & New), Takliseem, Jaitala, Trimurti Nagar, Ram Nagar, Seminary Hills, Dabha, Tekdi Wadi, Rifle Line, Civil Lines, IBM DT, Futala Line, Chinchbhavan, Boriyapura/Khadan, Sitabuldi Fort, Killa Mahal, Gittikhadan, among several others.
Residents of these areas have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and extend cooperation during this essential maintenance period. NMC has assured that all efforts will be made to complete the work on schedule and resume supply at the earliest.
