State cabinet sub-committee clears two mega projects in Nagpur— the Golden Arch highway and the Central Commercial District (CCD) in Hingna; final cabinet nod likely next week.
Golden Arch highway: A 100+ km third ring road connecting all national highways (NH-53, NH-44, NH-47, NH-347), aimed at easing congestion and boosting Nagpur’s logistics hub status.
The highway will link MIHAN, Butibori MIDC, and Samruddhi Mahamarg, with plans for truck depots, bus bays, and modern toll plazas; state to handle land acquisition under 50:50 funding model.
Central Commercial District (CCD): Spread over 1,780 acres in Hingna, designed as a mixed-use township with IT parks, malls, offices, industries, and housing — projected as Nagpur’s “New BKC.”
Project cost pegged at ₹13,000 crore, backed by Central funds; land already rezoned under Section 37 of MRTP Act for commercial development.
CCD highlights: single-window clearance for industries, green zones, underground utilities, high-capacity roads, and even a dedicated airport proposal to boost cargo and business travel.
