In a joint initiative by Maha Metro Nagpur and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), a dedicated feeder bus service from Kasturchand Park Metro Station to Ramdeobaba University will commence from August 28, 2025. The service aims to provide students and staff with a safe, convenient, and affordable mode of transportation.
This follows a meeting between Maha Metro and NMC officials, held recently. This meeting was followed by Metro Samwad – a Maha Metro outreach initiative aimed at informing citizens about the various aspects of Nagpur Metro. The idea of launching a direct feeder bus service from Kasturchand Park Metro Station to the university was discussed in detail in the meeting.
Officials from maha Metro Nagpur, NMC and its Chalo Team attended the meeting. The twin events were attended by Dr. Rajesh Pande, Vice-Chancellor, Ramdeobaba University, Shri Mahesh Moroney JGM (MMI), Maha Metro, Shri Neemsarkar (Operations Manager from the Chalo Team representing NMC Bus Service) and other maha Metro and NMC officials.
It was in the meeting that University students demanded a direct bus service from Kasturchand Park Metro Station to the College. They also shared their transportation-related issues and suggestions with the Maha Metro and the NMC officials. Taking this demand seriously, Nagpur Metro and NMC immediately decided to take necessary action and start Feeder Bus service.
Special Camp for Students: Keeping the students’ convenience in mind a 3-day camp was organized at the University premises. In this camp, Maha Cards were issued and NMC bus passes were also distributed tot e students. Students took advantage of this camp, ensuring they would not face difficulties in their commute and could make smooth use of both the metro and feeder bus services.
Student Reactions: Students of Ramdeobaba University have welcomed the move to introduce Feeder Bus Service. Starting of this facility would eliminate the dependence on autos or private vehicles. This will also get rid of the students’ fear of road accidents and effects of air pollution on health. The students are looking forward to starting of this service.
