“Remove the Corrupt Clerk or We Will Hold the Department Responsible,” Warn Students
What should have been a place of learning and safety has turned into a nightmare for hundreds of students at the Backward Class Government Hostel, Manish nagar (Unit No. 3). Instead of support, students allege they are facing daily harassment at the hands of Junior Clerk Tushar Bante, whose arbitrary and abusive behavior has created an atmosphere of fear.
The charges are explosive: humiliation, mental torture, substandard food crawling with worms, rotten vegetables in meals, forced apology letters, and even threats of admission cancellation. Students say their health has been put at risk, with several requiring medical treatment after consuming the contaminated food.
Repeated complaints to Warden Kalpana Patil have gone unheard. Instead, students allege that the warden is protecting Bante. Shockingly, this is not the first time—Bante was earlier suspended for misconduct, yet the department shamelessly reinstated him. Students have now drawn a red line. Their demands are crystal clear:
Immediate removal of Tushar Bante from the hostel.
Nutritious, hygienic food for all residents.
An end to mental harassment and intimidation.
Timely provision of study material and allowances.
Strict ban on outsiders loitering in the hostel at night.
If urgent action is not taken, students warn that the Social Welfare Department will be held directly responsible for any untoward incident. “This is not a hostel, it has become a prison of harassment,” one furious student declared.
