Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) launched the Leadership in Energy Advancement Programme (VIA-LEAP), a strategic initiative designed to make energy efficiency a driver of growth, profitability, and competitiveness for industries across the Vidarbha region.
VIA President, Prashant Mohota emphasized that energy efficiency must be recognized as the “first fuel”—the cleanest, cheapest, and most accessible energy resource. He highlighted that VIA-LEAP is not merely an environmental measure but a comprehensive framework to strengthen industries through sustainable practices.
The two-month programme, commencing from 1st September until 31st October 2025, aims to help industries adopt efficient energy practices, reduce costs, and transition towards sustainable energy usage. Designed with a structured methodology, VIA-LEAP will guide members through phased steps—beginning with sector-specific assessments, followed by expert evaluations, customized recommendations, benchmarking reports, and the delivery of actionable roadmaps to optimize efficiency and reduce expenses.
Mohota emphasised that energy reduction is not just about lowering utility bills but about unlocking a cycle of higher productivity, reliable equipment performance, and stronger competitiveness.
For larger industries, the programme will provide advanced expertise to optimize PAT compliance and maximize the value of ESCerts. For MSMEs—often limited by outdated technologies and scarce technical or financial resources—VIA LEAP will serve as a vital facilitator, helping them gain access to essential support.

Beyond cost savings, members will also benefit from policy guidance, sustainability recognition, and a future-ready framework that safeguards long-term business performance. By transforming rising energy costs into opportunities for profitability, VIA LEAP seeks to position Vidarbha as a frontrunner in industrial sustainability and resilience.
With this initiative, VIA shows its strong commitment to helping industries in the region to grow, while also promoting smart energy use, sustainable practices, and long-term success for its members.
