The brutal daylight murder of a 15-year-old schoolgirl in Ajni Railway Colony continues to expose shocking details as investigators delve deeper into the case. Police said the juvenile accused, who fatally stabbed the victim on August 29 after she ended their friendship, has been misleading officers during interrogation.
According to the Crime Branch, the accused claimed he burned the clothes he wore during the attack along with his mobile phone to destroy evidence. However, teams deployed to the location he indicated found no traces of such destruction. Officials now suspect that the boy is hiding evidence with the help of associates, and action against some of his friends and family members — who allegedly helped him evade arrest — is being considered.
The murder occurred outside St. Anthony’s School as the victim stepped out after classes. Enraged by her refusal to speak with him, the boy allegedly confronted her and attacked her with a knife purchased online. The weapon has since been recovered by police.
Investigations have revealed that the victim and the accused had been friends for three years, but she began distancing herself about a year ago. In April, he allegedly threatened to leak her photos and videos on social media after the friendship ended. Sources said his plan to “teach her a lesson” had been forming for several days.
Shockingly, despite signs of his violent behavior, the boy’s family reportedly failed to take the matter seriously, raising further concerns during the ongoing investigation.
