Nagpur witnessed vibrant scenes on Friday as thousands of devotees came together to celebrate Eid-e-Milad-un Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The heart of the festivities was Mominpura, where mosques were lit up, streets glowed with decorations, and processions filled the lanes with devotional energy.
To ensure the celebrations remained safe and peaceful, the Nagpur Police rolled out extensive security arrangements. The area around Jama Masjid in Mominpura saw heavy deployment of police personnel, with dog squads carrying out checks and barricades regulating movement.
In the morning, the city police staged a route march through Central Nagpur, led by Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Singal. The march, which passed through Central Avenue and adjoining localities, was meant to reassure citizens and demonstrate readiness ahead of the overlapping events of Eid-e-Milad-un Nabi and Ganesh Visarjan.
Officials confirmed that more than 4,500 police personnel, 1,300 Home Guards, and senior officers have been stationed across the city to maintain law and order.
